The table below shows the proportion of different categories of families living in poverty in Australia in 1999. Sample Answer:- The rendered tabular chart illustrates the statistical data for various types of families living in poverty in Australia during 1999. The figure are measured in percentage. At a glance, it is apparent that a large number from each household type lived in paucity which cover 11% of all household. Of all the family types, a very high proportion of 21% of sole parents and 19% of singles without children had poor financial circumstances. Furthermore in case of the other family types, 12% couple with children were broke whereas the proportion of poverty among couples without children reflects about half of this strength. In case of single aged person and couple the proportion of poor families was much lower as compared to other categories, at 6% and 4% respectively. Some people feel that manufacturers and supermarkets have the responsibility to reduce the amount of packaging of goods. While others argue that customers should avoid buying goods with a lot of packaging. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
